چکیده

Permian brachiopods from Oman are well-known as valuable tools for correlation and palaeobiogeographical palaeoclimatic reconstructions. Here, we describe a new brachiopod fauna the Qarari Unit of allochthonous Batain Group in northeast Oman. Brachiopods were collected four localities: Wadi Khawr al Jaramah (WKJ), Jebel (JQ1), X (JX3) Shiya (SH11). The age fossiliferous localities is wellconstrained to late Kungurian-early Roadian by conodonts fusulines, agreement with suggested ranges. The consists 339 specimens belonging 68 species 8 orders, among which five here identified new. Based on taphonomic attributes analysis life-styles, assemblages interpreted life thriving varied substrates, limited post-mortem exposure sea floor rapid burial at depths around storm wave base.Based generally high biodiversity indices (Shannon-Wiener Margalef indices), can be considered hotspot, only comparable, term biodiversity, coeval faunas West Texas South China. However, affinities these scanty, well northern Gondwana margin Cimmerian Cathaysian blocks, except some similarities upper Kungurian Myanmar. This may explained fact that succession was deposited Madagascan arm Neo-Tethys, thus rather isolated main Gondwanan margin.

Correlation lower bounds from correlation upper bounds

We show that for any coprime m, r there is a circuit of the form MODm ◦ ANDd(n) whose correlation with MODr is at least 2 −O( n d(n) ). This is the first correlation lower bound for arbitrary m, r, whereas previously lower bounds were known for prime m. Our motivation is the question posed by Green et al. [11] to which the 2( n d(n) ) bound is a partial negative answer. We first show a 2−Ω(n) c...

Algae (Dasycladales) from the Upper Triassic Nayband Formation (northeast Iran)

Dasycladales are relatively abundant in the bedded limestones of the Bidestan and Howz-e Khan members of the Late Triassic Nayband Formation in central Iran. In a locality south of the town of Naybandan (northwest of Dig-e Rostam), several Rhaetian dasycladacean algae were found in thin sections. The following taxa are described: Diplopora phanerospora Pia, Naybandoporella rhaetica nov. gen. no...

Fistulipora Microparallela (Yang and Lu, 1962) from Lower Permian Bryozoans of Lut Block, Central Iran

The Fistulipora microparallela (Yang and Lu, 1962) species is described for the first time from the Sakmarian deposits of the Sarab section in Lut Block, Central Iran. This species has been reported only from the Permian (Cisuralian-Guadalupian) of the Qilianshan and Kankerin formations, and the Baliqliq Group (Upper Carboniferous to Lower Permian) of Western Xinjiang, China.

Variation of Transition Temperatures from Upper to Lower Bainites in Plain Carbon Steels

Experimental results and explanations for the transition temperature from upper to lower bainites in carbon steels containing from 0.20 to 1.80 wt%C were presented metallographically and kinematically. The experimental results are summarized as follows: I) Lower bainite is not formed in steels with less than 0.35 wt%C and no transition from upper to lower bainite occurs. 2) The transition tempe...

Palaeogeography and palaeoecology of early Floian (Early Ordovician) cephalopods from the Upper Fezouata Formation, AntiAtlas, Morocco

This is the first description of Ordovician cephalopods from Morocco. Although their occurrence has been known for a long time, only a poorly preserved conch from the late Katian of Ikhf n’Ouzerg (central Anti-Atlas) was described as “Orthoceras hastile Barrande” by Termier & Termier (1950). In some cases Ordovician cephalopods were mentioned within faunal lists without classification (e.g., Gu...
